Hello, World (and Welcome Home)
This is the new virtual home of Cochlear Kill. I built this website myself as a build to learn project — Levelling up on my day job whilst hopefully advancing the Cochlear Kill cause. It runs on Nuxt (a JavaScript framework) and Python with FastAPI — and yes, it really is fast.
Whilst putting this site together I dived into Infrastructure as Code — a way of managing servers through configuration files instead of logging into hosting dashboards and clicking around / swearing at UI trying to make things work. Thanks to Terraform, I can now deploy updates from my Mac with just a few lines in the terminal. It’s clean, fast, and strangely satisfying.
In the future I’m hoping to let listeners log in with Spotify, roll out custom pre-save links (because fuck Linkfire), and maybe even bolt on a Patreon page (for a laugh). Next post, I’ll move from the virtual home to the real one — a look inside the new Cochlear Kill studio setup.
